Strength Training

At IRON & OARS we believe that strength training is extremely important in improving fitness level. Some of the direct benefits of strength training include: improving strength and muscle definition, boosting metabolism, reducing risk of injuries, improving heart health, decreasing visceral fat, increasing bone density, as well as improving brain health, self-esteem, and overall mood.
Every strength workout is different from one day to the next, we plan the workouts for you to maximize results. The focus is on increasing muscular endurance, strength, and power by utilizing body weight, dumbbells, and resistance bands.


The perfect cardio workout. At IRON & OARS we row on indoor water rowers which provide the smoothest glide and resistance that is based on your individual effort. Rowing works 86% of your body with every stroke. There is no other cardio exercise that comes close to working the core as much as rowing. The best part is that there is no impact or wear and tear on the joints because your body weight is supported the entire time. This makes rowing one of the safest and most effective cardio exercises. The variables such as resistance, speed, and distance allow you to continue to challenge yourself while improving your cardio endurance and muscular strength. Rowing is a great exercise for rehabilitating and injury, improving posture, gaining core strength as well as losing body fat.


At IRON & OARS we know the importance of flexibility and how it affects your mobility, strength, and overall range of motion. We use active mobility exercises immediately after every warm-up on the rower, as well as incorporating mobility during our intervals and focusing on flexibility at the end of every workout. We utilize foam rollers, balls, straps, and blocks to challenge everyone to improve their range of motion safely as well as release fascia and pressure through point stimulation. Our flexibility focus is to prevent injury, alleviate pain and stiffness, and improve overall mobility. Flexibility is more than just stretching and is important for all ages and fitness levels.
